Surgical Method for Droplet Breast Augmentation

Surgical Method according to the Incision Location

  • 01 01 Armpit Fold Incision Method

01 Armpit Fold Incision Method An incision made in the deepest part of the armpit fold

No problems with breastfeeding because it does not touch breast tissue

Scarring is hidden in the armpit fold, making the postoperative scar almost invisible over time

Difficulty moving your arms right after the surgery

  • 02 02 Areola Incision Method

02 Areola Incision Method Incision along the edge of the areola

Characteristically, the scar made in this area is almost invisible even immediately after surgery, and it is relatively easy to regain normal arm and shoulder movement.

The incision area made close to the surgical area makes it easier to perform surgery or re-surgery if the patient has slightly drooping breasts, helping produce an accurate outcome.

Surgical scarring may appear if the areola is smaller than 2.5cm.

  • 03 03 Breast Baseline Incision Method

03 Breast Baseline Incision Method Incision made invisible in the crease below the breast

The fastest way to get the surgery done, it is slightly more effective than other options if you have sagging breasts or need a reoperation because the incision is made close to the surgical site.

In this incision area, scars can appear visible when you lie down or you have only a small amount of breast tissue before surgery.

Operation Method according to the Location of Implants

  • Dual Plane Placement

    Dual Plane Placement

Using this method, the surgeon places the upper part of the implants below the thoracic muscle (pectoral muscle) and the lower part below the breast tissue. The term ‘Dual Plane’ is used because the implants are placed over two planes.

If you have a small amount of breast tissue, the upper edge of the implants are covered up by the chest muscle to prevent the contours of the implants from protruding unnaturally after surgery. The lower part is placed above the muscle, allowing sufficient extension of the skin and cartilage to create a more natural breast outline.

This method is most commonly used among Korean women without enough breast tissue.

  • Placement below the breast tissue

    Placement below the breast tissue

This method is used to place the implants between the breast tissue and pectoral muscle, usually when the patient has a lot of breast tissue and well-developed pectoralis muscle.

Among its advantages, not only it helps the breast move relatively more smoothly and the cleavage look more natural, but it also keeps the shape of the implants being affected by the movement of the pectoralis muscle.

This procedure is rarely recommended for young women because those with a slim body or with little breast tissue because the implants edges may become visible, showing indications of the surgery.

  • Placement below Fascia

    Placement below Fascia

Since implants are placed under the peritoneum that surrounds the pectoralis muscles, it is a hybrid method that has both the advantages and disadvantages of double plane insertion below lacteal gland.

This procedure is also difficult to apply to extremely thin women, but it is also the most effective solution for those with sagging breasts but with enough breast tissue.

  • Operation Time

    1.5 hours

  • Anesthetic Method

    General Anesthesia

  • Stitch Removal

Not necessary (Surgical glue is applied)

  • Hospitalization

For morning operation, discharged in the afternoon For afternoon operation, one day hospitalization

  • Preoperative Examination

Preoperative examinations are essential for safe surgery. Chest X-Ray and EGC tests are conducted to guarantee safe anesthesia and blood tests. Based on the exam results, we check the patient’s conditions of liver function, heart function, kidney function, long disease and anemia. These preoperative examinations determine whether the patient is in good enough health to endure surgery and general anesthesia before we check the patient’s condition and medical examination results.

  • Breast Cancer Screening and Checking for Abnormalities

If you have not experienced breast cancer before the surgery, you should get your breasts checked through preoperative testing to check for any breast condition. It may be a bit of a hassle for the patient, but JK Plastic Surgery will definitely not overlook this process because it puts safety first. We perform tests to meet the schedule by working with neighboring hospitals as long as the patient wants us to.

  • Minimal Stripping -Safe Implants -Breast Surgery Task Force

Before entering the surgery, you must complete a consent form and receive sufficient guidance on the postoperative precautions. Through the patient’s final consultation with the doctor, we make sure the patient understands the objectives of the surgery. Then, our medical team will proceed with the surgery. The operation is performed under the supervision of plastic surgeons with more than 10 years of experience in breast surgery. Anesthesiology specialists monitor the entire procedure in real time.

  • Postoperative Recovery -Hospitalization

Following the inpatient surgery, every patient will be placed in intensive care in the recovery room until they return to their normal physical condition. Patient will also be hospitalized following the surgery if necessary. JK’s safety system is on all around the color under the supervision of our anesthesiologists, nurses and medical staff.

  • Follow-up care after discharge

To reduce swelling and help patients recover quickly after discharge from the hospital, JK runs a surgery-specific “recovery” program to provide thorough care for the patient’s prompt recovery.
