What are “foreign patient attracting medical facilities” certified by the Ministry of Health and Welfare?

The Ministry of Health and Welfare directly evaluates 120 categories including patient safety, surgery/procedure management, anesthesia sedation management, infection control system and medication management to select medical institutions that attract foreign patients at or above a certain level.
In particular, hospitals that cause social problems such as patient death cannot even apply for an evaluation. Items directly related to “patient safety” such as patient safety and infection control must be passed before certification can be obtained.

Point 1.

Detail Pre-operative Examination

Step 01 Pre-operative Basic Inspection

  • Secondary status assessment and design confirmation
We check the condition assessment once again in the O.R., and then the medical staff will conduct the design of the surgical area.
  • In-Body measurement for body shape consultation
For accurate surgery/procedures, detailed body examinations are performed prior to surgery, and consultations are based on the test results.
  • Digital imaging during double-jaw/facial contouring surgery
We perform a 3D-Digital CT scan to check the exact condition of bone thickness, shape, skin thickness and nerve line location. This is to carry out safe surgery with the correct guide during the operation.

Step 02 Pre-operative complete medical examination

  • Chest X-ray Examination
Patients undergoing surgery and hospitalization with general anesthesia should be checked if they are at a risk of infection from infectious diseases.
  • Electrocardiogram
Analyze and read each part of the heart by observing the waveform of the graph, such as whether the rhythm of the hear is irregular, fast or slow.
  • Required pre-operative blood test
We do a blood test to see if you are fit for surgery. This is usually to check blood type, anemia, liver function, kidney function and so on.

Step 03 Evaluation of condition on the day of operation

  • Confirm primary condition assessment prior to the surgery
Prior to surgery, pre-operative preparation is conducted through preoperative condition assessment, such as blood pressure, body temperature, medication and fasting of the patients.
  • Hospitalization on the day of surgery
Inpatient admission procedures are performed on the day of surgery, such as patient identification, purchase of medication, changing to operating gown, facial cleansing and gargles.
Point 2.

Safe Operation/Anesthesia

Step 01 Safe Operating Environment

  • UPS Uninterruptible System
We have a ‘UPS Emergency Self-Generating System’ that provides power even in the event of an inevitable power outage, such as a natural disaster, so that we can safely complete the operation.
  • Double Infection Control
We have sterile AIR SHOWER installed and vacuum mat at the O.R. entrance to remove microorganisms, fine dust and pollutants using the high-speed air purifier.
  • Operating Rooms
Individual air conditioning systems operate in each operating room, and temperature and humidity are controlled in real time with powerful filters.
  • Real-time CMS Monitoring
All medical staff monitor the patient’s condition in real time.
  • TUBE EXCHANGER
To ensure the airway of double-jaw and facial contouring surgery patients, we have the latest tube that allows for a step-by-step tube venting.

Step 02 Worry-free anesthesia system

  • Dantrolene
We have a drug called Dantrolene, which is used to prepare for high fever that can occur during anesthesia. This is for use in cases where body temperature rises rapidly during general anesthesia, resulting in increased blood carbon dioxide content. Dantrolene is the only drug in the world that can treat hyperthermia, and only a limited number of hospitals in the country have it.
  • DRAGER pressure sensing anesthesia machine
We use an anesthesia machine from Germany’s DRAGER, the world’s leading provider of medical and safety technologies. Patient life-related conditions such as heart activity, blood oxygen and carbon dioxide, saturation, blood pressure and body temperature can be checked continuously.
  • 1:1 Anesthesiologist
Your anesthesiologist will individually take care of the anesthesia from pre-operative procedures until you are completely awake.

Step 03 First Aid System

  • CPR System
In addition to the operation of a CPR task force consisting of medical staff, nurses and anesthesiologists, all employees are provided with first aid training every year.
  • University Hospital Cooperative System
JK Plastic Surgery has a university hospital connection system.
  • Emergency kit (medication)
JK Plastic Surgery has an emergency (medication) kit.
Point 3.

Safe Recovery System

Step 01 Safe Primary Recovery

  • Bear Hug Temperature Retention Device
This is a body temperature retention device that prevents the body temperature from falling while waking up from general anesthesia and gradually restores consciousness.
  • Primary recovery chamber
Immediately after the operation, we keep a close watch at the primary recovery room next to the operating room until you completely wake from the anesthesia. When you completely wake from the anesthesia, you are moved to the secondary recovery room under the instruction of the anesthesiologist.

Step 02 Comfortable secondary recovery

  • 24 HOUR Care Center
24-hour nurses always take care of any inconveniences
  • Medical Hotel
We have a hotel-class inpatient clinic where medical staff is in charge of the daily morning rounding.

Step 03 Definite postoperative care

  • Aesthetic linked care
In addition to pain, bruising/boosting treatments, we provide customized care for each surgical area that aids skin regeneration and blood circulation by connecting with hospital aesthetic.
  • Direct progress treatment for the responsible medical staff
The medical team responsible for the consultation and surgery is also responsible for the last treatment.
  • High-pressure Oxygen Therapy
A high-pressure oxygen therapy that increases the rate of postoperative regeneration/recovery by increasing oxygen level 2~3 times in the human body.
